Appeal launched following armed robbery at Padgate off-licence

DETECTIVES have launched an appeal for information following an armed robbery at an off-licence in the Padgate area of Warrington.

The incident occurred at approximately 6.30pm on Wednesday, December 2, at a premises on Bruche Heath Gardens, Padgate, Warrington.

On entering the premises the offender made his way towards the counter where he threatened the shopkeeper with a knife and demanded that he handed over cash from the till. He then left the store with a quantity of cash.

The offender is described as a white man, early twenties, of slim build and approximately 5ft 10 inches to 5ft 11 inches tall. The man has a local accent and at the time of the incident he was wearing a wearing a brown woollen jumper and a black woollen balaclava.

Investigating officer DC Elaine Flynn said: “I am currently following a number of lines of enquiry and as part of my investigations I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident and believes that they may have seen anything suspicious.”
