Police launch appeal after man arrested for arson

POLICE are appealing for information after a car was set on fire in the Dallam area of Warrington on Christmas Eve.

The incident took place at 3.15am last Thursday 24th when a Ford Mondeo was stolen from the Tavlin Avenue area and abandoned round the corner on Hawleys Lane before being set on fire. The offender/s then fled the scene on foot. There were no reports of any injuries.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has subsequently been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened or was traveling in the Hawleys Lane area of Warrington and has seen anything significant to get in touch.
Anyone with any information, which could assist officers with their enquiries, is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 106 of 24th December.
