LITTLE Lydia Cooper is set to have a happy Christmas – after the wheelchair stolen during a burglary at her family home was recovered.

Police discovered the family car abandoned in Liverpool earlier today, along with her wheelchair.

Delighted mum Sarah, who thanked the Warrington public for their support and generosity following the break-in at the weekend, when burglars stole Christmas presents, before making their getaway in the family car, said: “It is a blessing.

“The car is still with forensics but the wheelchair was still inside it. We are over the moon.

Cheshire Police said the wheelchair was found inside the abandoned car on Bowring Park Road, Liverpool.

A passer-by found the car after an appeal by Lydia’s family.

The police spokesman said there have been no arrests made and an investigation into the burglary was continuing.

After hearing about the burglary the Warrington public rallied, with local Masons offering a donation for a new wheelchair, Warrington Disability Partnership providing a loan chair and local DJ Dominic starting a fund-raising page which received thousands of pounds worth of support.

Sara said she had been overwhelmed with the offers of support.
