College launches new business club

WARRINGTON Collegiate is continuing to develop its close relationship with the borough’s employers by launching a new Business Club aimed at “matching” them with the right apprentice.
Aimed at creating better partnerships between the college – Warrington’s leading provider of vocational education – and businesses, the club is free and looks to provide employers with numerous benefits and opportunities, including access to free training needs and priority access to Government funding.
Cath Brierley, head of business development and delivery, employer and commercial services at the Collegiate, said: “We aim to provide businesses with training and development programmes to help improve the output of businesses, grow customer loyalty, and enhance your overall market positions.
“Whether you are looking to train your staff or to improve your overall business performance, the Business Club offers the perfect support mechanism.”
The new scheme – which was launched at the Business School – follows hot on the heels of the Collegiate’s new Work Shop programme, which offers apprenticeship vacancies and part-time jobs.
Cath added: “We want the Business Club to help us give employers a voice and show that we are listening. It will allow us to serve employers better.
“It’s about bringing businesses together. We want businesses to come in and talk to our students and explain what it is they’re looking for in an apprenticeship to help give them that work ethic and attitude they need to succeed.
“We also want to be able to approach employers knowing that the candidates we have selected for them are the right fit.”
Warrington Collegiate offers both 16-18 year old apprenticeships, adult apprenticeships, work force delivery and bespoke training.
