Police issue phone scam warning

POLICE have issued a phone scam warning after Trading Standards have received a number of enquiries from Warrington residents who have been phoned by someone claiming to be calling from Warrington Borough Council regarding an alleged accident.

The caller has claimed to be based on Sankey Street and has become abusive when challenged. The caller is not connected to Warrington Borough Council and people are reminded not to divulge any personal information to cold callers.

Please pass this information to family, friends, neighbours and anyone else who may be vulnerable.
