LABOUR held on to a seat in the Bruche ward of Poulton-with-Fearnhead Parish Council in a by-election caused by the resignation of former chairman Ian Johnson – also Labour.
In a four-cornered fight, Josh Booth, chairman of Warrington Young Labour, defeated the Conservatives by just 25 votes.
Full result was:
Josh Booth (Lab) 202; Howard Klein (Cons) 177; Trevor Nicholls (UKIP) 79; Bob Taylor (TUSC) 55.
There was a 15 per cent turn out.
