Health trust achieves 99% patient satisfaction

OVER the past 12 months Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust  has achieved a 99 per cent overall patient satisfaction rate in Warrington.
From physiotherapy to podiatry and school nursing to sexual health, Bridgewater provides more than 35 local community health services in the borough as well as services in other parts of the North West.
Patients were asked to complete the “Talk to Us” feedback forms between  November 1 last year and October 31 this year  after accessing services in local health centres and clinics.
The results revealed that 97 per cent of 4,337 patients in the borough who were surveyed would recommend Bridgewater’s services to friends or family if they needed similar treatment.
Bridgewater’s director of people and organisational development Christine Samosa said: “We are pleased to announce these patient satisfaction results as we mark our first year as an NHS Foundation Trust. This recent feedback demonstrates the commitment and passion of our staff in ensuring that we provide the best patient care possible.
“We look forward to working with local people and partners over the coming year to further improve our services and to ensure our Trust is patient centered, community focused and a leading provider of healthcare services in the North West.”
Bridgewater was awarded Foundation Trust status in last year after a robust and rigorous assessment process by regulatory body Monitor. Foundation Trust status gives Bridgewater greater freedom and flexibility to determine how to deliver services locally.
As part of the Foundation Trust process almost 10,000 public members have been recruited and a Council of Governors has been set up to ensure Bridgewater is meeting the health needs of local people.
