IT was a case of on with the show at the annual Culcheth Victorian Day as villagers braved the wind and the rain to start the countdown to Christmas.

Shopkeepers dressed in Dickensian costumes at the event, organised by Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council and Birchwood Lions, with support from local community groups, as Fairground music and rides entertained visitors.
