Have a say on the future of primary health care

HEALTH chiefs in Warrington are seeking views from across the borough on their vision for the future of local primary care.
NHS Warrington  Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is currently running a public consultation to gather public and patient views.
The CCG has drafted a Primary Care Strategy and  wants the views of members of the public, patients, doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals on the changes they are proposing.
Primary care provides the first point of contact in the healthcare system – general practice…the treatment delivered from doctors’ surgeries in local communities.
NHS Warrington CCG clinical chief officer Dr Andrew Davies (pictured above), said: “The demand on health and social care services is rising due to more people living longer, often with multiple long-term conditions.
“GPs, nurses and staff in practices are under increasing pressures, with fewer of them to treat patients as the town grows and ages.
“We need people’s views on our plans to overcome some of those challenges so we can ensure that every registered patient has the same access to services in each GP practice across Warrington.”

The formal consultation closes on Monday, November 30 at 12 noon.
