A KEY event in “Export Week” – to take place from November 9-13 – is to be held in Warrington.
UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) is holding events across the North West, but “Spotlight on Africa” will be held at the Park Road Hotel at Stretton on Thursday November 12.
Aim of the week is to offer North West businesses an opportunity to start or increase trade overseas.
The Stretton event will involve a number of high profile speakers, including Guy Warrington, from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Ross Alexander, executive director of Africa Matters Ltd.
Both will discuss how business can grow in Africa, one of the world’s most dynamic business regions with growth rates of up to eight per cent, a population of over a billion and $2 trillion collective GDP. The event will explore legal finance, culture and language of the region, and offer the opportunity to ask any questions with regards to business etiquette.
Clive Drinkwater (pictured), regional director for UK Trade and Investment North West, said: “Export Week is an ideal opportunity for companies to learn more about international trade opportunities, and the support available to help them fulfil their exporting ambitions. Whether a newcomer or an existing exporter looking to expand, the week offers something for everyone.
“Exporting helps companies to grow, and taking those initial steps to find out more can prove invaluable. UKTI and our partners in the North West are determined to help local companies succeed in the global race. We’re already working with thousands of companies across the region to do just that – we want to help a great many more.”
