ENTRIES are now open for next year’s Robert Moffat Memorial High Legh 10k run.
Now in its ninth year the race around High Legh on February 28 with an enviable reputation for being a friendly, welcoming event, is set to be as brilliant as ever.
It will once again be organised jointly by Lymm Runners and the High Legh Community Association –  a community based event that has a fantastic reputation as being friendly to runners of all abilities.
What’s more, to get runners ready for the race  Lymm Runners will also be offering a Beginners Course designed for new runners – or those returning after a longer break – which will start on Tuesday January 5. The course, costing just £27 which includes membership to Lymm Runners and UK athletics affiliation provides eight weeks of structured training to gradually increase your fitness and distance in the lead-up to the High Legh 10k. Places are limited and booking is essential. For more information visit www.lymmrunners.org.uk
The race will be chip timed and multiple category prizes are available as well as a technical running T-shirt for all finishers and a fantastic goody bag.
Race director Katy O’Connor said: “The race is set on quiet, flat country lanes and is an excellent opportunity for competitive athletes to achieve a personal best or for first timers to take part in a friendly local race. We offer free parking and have a team of friendly and enthusiastic marshals and race organisers waiting to cheer you on around the course”.
Entry before December is £16 for affiliated runners and £18 for non-affiliated runners. After December, if any places are left, the fee will increase.
The route starts and finishes at High Legh Primary School and homemade refreshments are provided by the school’s PTA.
