Child trapped by hand in escalator

FIREFIGHTERS from Warrington were called out this afternoon after a child’s hand became trapped in an escalator.
The incident was in Wharf Street, Howley shortly before 3pm and fire crews used specialist tools to free the youngster’s hand.
It took about 15 minutes to release the youngster who was then handed over to paramedics and taken to hospital.
One fire engine was involved in the operation.
