BEING a fan of Scouting for Girls has led to a whole new career and world of opportunities for 20-year-old Nicole Beswick, Social Media Apprentice at Warrington Collegiate.
At 15 Nicole was a dedicated fan of Scouting for Girls and met the group after going to the gigs.
“They started to recognise me and would come over for a chat,” explained Nicole.
“Lead singer, Roy Stride, knew that I was interested in design and after seeing some of my work he messaged me through twitter and asked if I’d like to produce the cover for their new Album, Still thinking about you,”
“I start with a hand-drawn design before using the computer to produce the final graphics and the text”, says Nicole, who is thrilled to see her design in print.
Roy enthused: “We loved working with Nicole. She designed the visuals for our entire album campaign – Album cover, single covers, inlays, posters, website. Her illustrations are beautiful, she was creative with concepts and ideas and she worked every hour god sent to hit sudden deadlines imposed on her and redesigned the inlay a hundred times without complaint. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.”
Nicole developed her talent for graphic design and illustration as a hobby, but also pays tribute to the tutors at Warrington Collegiate who taught advanced Photoshop during her time as an apprentice.
It’s a double celebration for Nicole as she has just landed a new job as Marketing Assistant and Designer for Resulting and Bluesky Digital Marketing combining her qualifications from Warrington Collegiate with her skills and talent for design, which is now much more than the hobby which began five years or more ago.
