TWO Warrington motor sports enthusiasts will be glad to see the back of the National Car and Kart Championship Races which ended at Oulton Park at the weekend.

British Automobile Club North West Centre Kart Champion in the 250cc class for the last four years Paul Platt, it was too little to late.  Paul had had a disastrous 2015 season with various problems.

“Oulton Park was my late chance to salvage some kind of an improvement in the machine that had had so many problems,” he said.

“Just about every thing that could go wrong went wrong and it’s has been very disappointing that I did not get another championship to add to the other four, to make it five on the trot” said Paul.

He was 250 cc Champion for the 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons.

A similar sort season was had by Richard Roundell in the National Car Championships.

“A blown engine and many, many other problems throughout the season made it a time I want to forget,” he said.

“But this last race made up for the past miseries…I can’t stop smiling as everything went the way it was supposed to and me and the car were at our very best..and I hope that next year  that I can keep the smile,” added Richard.
