TRIBUTES are being made to a former Lymm student who was fatally shot outside a nightclub in Germany at the weekend.

Oxford graduate Luke Holland, 31, a successful business entrepreneur, was apparently shot as he left the nightclub by a man wearing a cowboy hat after an apparent row over noise.

He was shot as he left Del Rex in Berlin at around 6am on Sunday and died on his way to hospital.

Reports in Germany say a 62-year-old man has been arrested but can only be identified as Rolf Z because of Germany’s data protection laws.

It is believed Mr Holland lived in the same block as the suspect in Berlin’s Neukolln district.

Tributes to Mr Holland have been pouring in on social media from his many friends in the Lymm area where his family still live.

The tributes on facebook include ‘So sad that you have been taken from this world too early. Shine bright.’

Another post read ‘Woke up to some truly saddening news this morning. RIP Luke Holland’.

Since leaving Lymm Mr Holland had been travelling the world, teaching English to people in Japan and had also trained as a solicitor.
