A total of 1000 runners descended on the streets of Warrington for the LiveWire Mile fun run which was part of the closing events of Warrington Festival.LiveWire-Mile-Space-Hopper

The family friendly race, which is now in its third year, saw an increase of 400 more participants on last year as the race took place in the town centre for the first time.

It wasn’t just runners that took part, some participants used creative methods to complete the course including hopping the mile on a space hopper. Families and friends in fancy dress also joined in.

The mile challenge started shortly after 5000 runners completed the English Half Marathon and 10K. People taking part in the LiveWire Mile were encouraged to raise money for a charity of their choice.

The LiveWire mile was part of the sports element of Warrington Festival which aims to showcase, celebrate and promote physical activity.
