New disabled access at Culcheth Sports Club

FUNDRAISING has enabled a new disabled person’s access ramp to be installed at Culcheth Sports Club.

The former access ramp had been deemed unfit for purpose by the council and was required to be replaced immediately.

Up stepped the Newton & District Jubilee Rotary Club who, with assistance from the Sports Club’s management, organised a number of charity fundraising events, including a Beer Festival taking place this weekend (September 11/12).

Rotary Club members offered to fund the work to provide legally safe access for persons with any form of disability and give safer access for children in push chairs and the general public.

In addition to the ramp, the Rotary Club had also previously donated a defibrillator to the Sports Club.
