Fans form a guard of honour outside the stadium

VIDEO: SEVERAL hundred Warrington Wolves’ fans were joined by players and staff outside the Halliwell Jones Stadium to form a guard of honour for lifelong fan James ‘Jock’ Maguire, who died recently.

Jock passed away peacefully last month in Warrington Hospital after a brave battle against stomach cancer, aged 85.jock-maguire

As his funeral car drove passed the stadium the crowd started continuous applause.

The loveable Scot followed Rugby League and Warrington for 80 years since he moved to the town and he was the life and soul of the party known by everyone associated with the club.

Earlier this year, Jock enjoyed a morning down at The Halliwell Jones Stadium sharing stories over breakfast with the players and firm friend Lee Briers.

Following the guard of honour Jock’s final journey was to a service at Walton Crematorium.
