WARRINGTON businessman Carl Oates has joined the main board at local leisure, libraries and lifestyles provider LiveWire.

Carl, aged 34, has recently launched MBS Site Supplies in the town where he has lived with his family for the past five years.

A delighted Carl said: “I am looking to give something back to a town which has been so kind to us. LiveWire seemed like the perfect opportunity to do this operating on a voluntary basis at Board Level.

“LiveWire is embarking upon considerable development of its estate with new buildings approved and refurbishment of existing buildings. Given that I own a Builders Merchants and have nearly 15 years’ experience in the construction industry, my skillset and experience seemed to fit well with the needs of LiveWire going forwards as it continues to grow.”

Carl has a BA (hons) degree in communication and an MSc in Marketing Management and is looking forward to helping the not for profit community interest company, launch new products and services to local communities related to cancer, weight loss, dementia and other personal challenges.

“Given that I have made a lot of friends across both Public and Private Sectors in Warrington, it is hoped that I will add continued value to developing relationships and strategic alliances across Warrington to benefit LiveWire and the communities with which it operates within.

Carl added: “The chance to work with people like Jan Souness (Managing Director) and Alan Yates (Chairman) – both of whom have done so much for the development and progress of the Warrington Communities in their own right is very exciting. I’m keen to continue my own personal development and surrounding myself with good people ensures this happens.

“I will do everything I can to help LiveWire continue towards delivering its vision of making Warrington the most active and healthy town in the country.”

It has been a busy few weeks for Carl who lives in Appleton with his wife Rachel, as the couple recently celebrated the birth of their second child Joshua a month early – much to the delight of big sister Harriet, aged three.

As well as joining the board at LiveWire Carl is a supporter of Warrington Disability Partnership and a former semi-professional footballer, including a spell at Runcorn Linnets.
