Disability campaigner amongst those honoured in Queen’s Birthday Honours

MORE than 1,000 people were honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, including a number from Warrington.
Disability campaigner Mrs Susan Bentley (pictured above) received the MBE for services to Charity.
Sue has ben a stalwart at Warrington Disability Partnership for a number of years.
She commented on her Facebook status; “I am pleased, proud and amazed to announce that I was awarded Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) this morning in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
“It was given to me for services to charity and the community.Even writing this status is surreal, I am bursting with pride and pleasure.”

The following received OBEs:
Mrs Christine Banim (pictured) of Lymm for services to Children.christine_banim
Christine spent 17 years as a frontline social worker and a further 15 in managerial positions in some of the country’s most complex local authorities.
For the past five years, she has been National Service director, Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass).
Mr Jack Hatch of Glazebury, Headteacher, St Bede Church of England Primary Academy, Bolton. For services to education.
Mrs Susan Lomas of Warrington for services to Young People through girl guiding.

The following  received MBEs:
Ms Janet Guest of Lymm for services to People who have endured Domestic Ritual Abuse.
Mrs Joyce Roberts of Penketh for services to the Community, particularly Women.

British Empire Medal (BEM)

Patricia Elizabeth Bryan of Warrington, for services to the communities of Frodsham and Helsby.
