EXPERIENCED hooker Micky Higham looks set to leave Warrington Wolves, who earlier this week rejected a bid from his home town club Leigh Centurions.
Higham, who was left out of the squad in the Challenge Cup victory at Dewsbury, is set to have further talks with Head of Coaching Tony Smith early next week, but it would appear he has set his heart on leaving Warrington.
Warrington are believed to be seeking compensation for the player who is contracted until the end of the season.
Smith says he doesn’t want to lose Higham but expects a solution to an “unconvential” approach from Leigh to be “resolved in the right manner.”
Earlier inthe week Warrington released a statement saying:  “Following recent speculation, Warrington Wolves can confirm that the club has received a request from Leigh Centurions to sign Micky Higham with immediate effect.
“Micky is contracted at the Wolves until the end of the current 2015 season and as such the club has turned down this request from the Championship side.
“He is a key part of our first team and one of our more influential and experienced players. We believe he has a big role to play in the future success of 2015.
“Fellow hooker Daryl Clark is currently on the sidelines through injury therefore the club has also called back Brad Dwyer, on loan at London Broncos, for a month with immediate effect.”
Meanwhile Daryl Clark, who has missed the last two games with a knee injury, is expected to return against Salford next week.
