Hospice celebrates 30 years

ST ROCCO’S Hospice recently celebrated 30 years to the day since it welcomed its first patient.

Staff, volunteers, patients, supporters and people from across the Warrington community came together for a community open event, which raised over £2,000 to help the Hospice continue its work in the town.

There were a number of pop-up stalls, games, and a traditional afternoon tea, with visitors able to tour the Hospice and find out more about the services available, and see first-hand how their fundraising supports patient care.

A giant birthday card enabled people to wish the Hospice a happy anniversary and CEO Pam Massey was delighted with the success of the afternoon.

She said: “It was fantastic to see so many people join us on such a special day, and it really brought home how much St. Rocco’s belongs to the Warrington community. A huge thank you to all the staff, volunteers and visitors who made it such an enjoyable event.”
