BIRCHWOOD-based fit-out specialist Morris & Spottiswood is targeting health sector growth after landing an NHS framework agreement.

The £74.4m turnover business has been formally approved to join Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust contractor framework for building, mechanical and engineering works.

Morris & Spottiswood North of England managing director Jon Dunwell said the deal which kicked in on May 1 will provide a three-year window to tender for contracts on NHS sites across Leeds. He said the firm is already poised to deliver projects on sites including St James’s University Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary, Chapel Allerton Hospital, Seacroft Hospital, Moor Road Pharmacy.

“This is a significant step forward for our North of England operation as we look to develop our footprint in the health sector,” he said. “The Leeds NHS framework agreement provides the entry point to compete for a broad range of projects including demolitions, construction, installation, removals and refurbishment work. The framework approval is a statement of credibility and an endorsement of the calibre of our services. It also critically enables us to competitively chase down contracts up to the value of £2million.

“Inclusion on the framework does not automatically guarantee work, however we believe this agreement will be a strong growth generator over the next three years due to our sharp competitive edge.

“Morris & Spottiswood benefits from a long-standing brand and a unique range of services. We offer both fit-out and M and E services under one roof. This enables us to save customers time and money. Large emphasis is placed on customer service and satisfaction while our project delivery is fixed on making savings for our clients.”

The family owned firm also has offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Leeds.
