Dementia Friends information session

MEMBERS of Walton Parish Council attended a “Dementia Friends” information session at The Stag hotel at Lower Walton.
Dementia Friends is an Alzheimers Society initiative, aimed at raising awareness of dementia within the community and inspiring action to support those living with and caring for those with dementia.
Pub landlord, Stephen Hammersley, who trained as a Dementia Friends volunteer in order to run the session said: “I am delighted that the local councillors agreed to attend our first session.
“We will be running regular sessions in the future, free for anyone to attend. For the parish council to support our first session has been a great boost.”
Dementia Friends information sessions last for 45 minutes to an hour and are open to anybody to attend. People wishing to attend a session on Tuesday  April 28 at 4pm should contact The Stag at Walton on 01925 261680.
