MORE than 1000 Warrington women take part in the St. Rocco’s Starlight Ladies Walk each year, and many of them are mother and daughter duos who take on the fundraising challenge together.
This year’s Starlight Walk takes place on Friday 19th June, at midnight, at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub, and people who sign up before 28th February will enter a draw to win a £100 voucher for Grill On The Square.
Joanne Arnett from Appleton walks with her two daughters, Rachel and Hayley (pictured right). She said: “We’ve done it together for seven years and it’s a date in our diary every year now. It’s becoming a real family affair as my sister has started joining us too.”
Walkers choose from a 6.5 or 13 mile course, gaining sponsorship that helps St. Rocco’s Hospice continue its care for the community.
Joanne added: “We always complete the two laps, 13 miles, even when it’s heavy rain. The bacon butties at the end make it all worthwhile!”
