FRODSHAM is the most successful shopping centre in West Cheshire – judged on the number of vacant retail premises in the town.
Cllr Andrew Dawson told the Town Council that shop vacancies in Frodsham had fallen to 2.6 per cent from 3.95 per cent. The next best centre in the borough was Neston, with 10.34 per cent while Chester had a vacancy rate of 14 per cent.
He said: “People complain about the number of vacant shops in Frodsham, but actually we have the most successful shopping centre in West Cheshire. We are doing very well as a retail centre.”
Chairman Cllr Mark Warren said: “The Town Council is rigorously opposed to any reduction in retail floor space.”
