WARRINGTON Town will host League Two club Exeter City in the FA Cup first round on the weekend November 7-10.
Manager Shaun Reid was interviewed live on BBC TV by Mark Chapman before and after the draw at St George’s Park.
Back in Warrington, the first team squad, including Saturday’s match winner Lewis Field, fans and club officials all celebrated the draw at the club’s Cantilever Park home.
Exeter have twice reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, and are currently 10th in League Two – some four divisions above the Evo-Stik First Division North which Town play in.
But Warrington’s historic cup run has already seen them knock out three teams from higher divisions in the shape of Conference North pair Colwyn Bay and North Ferriby, and Northern Premier League side Trafford.
Saturday’s 1-0 win over North Ferriby in the fourth qualifying round ensured Warrington will play in the FA Cup first round proper for the first time in the club’s 65-year history.
The game against Exeter will be Town’s eighth game in the competition this season, and the tie could be selected for television coverage on either BBC or BT Sport.
