WARRINGTON Town completed their pre-season friendlies with an impressive
3-3 draw against Premier League Leicester City’s full-time Under 21s at
Cantilever Park.
The visitors, who boasted some young internationals in their line-up took the lead within the first 10 minutes.
But Warrington responded well and were back on level terms on 15 minutes with a fine right footed pile driver from Connor Roberts.
Town then hit a purple patch as winger Scott Metcalfe (pictured top) lobbed the keeper to make it 2-1 after 21 minutes and four minutes later helped make it 3-1 when he put Chris Simm through to score.
But Leicester found their feet again and were back on level terms before the break, including a dubious penalty for handball.
In the second half defences were on top with chances few and far between.
With an impressive pre-season under the belts Warrington kick start their season with a trip to former football league side Darlington on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
