A MAN was rescued from a first floor flat at Warrington after fire broke out.
The well-developed fire was at a flat in Calgarth Avenue, Bewsey, and three fire engines were sent to the scene – two from Warrington and one from Stockton Heath.
Four firefighters wore breathing apparatus to enter the smoke-filled property and a man was rescued and led to safety.
Two hose reel jets were used to tackled the fire and a ventilation unit was used to clear dense smoke from the property.
An investigation has been started to establish the cause of the outbreak.
In another incident, a man was trapped in a car after a collision in Hollins Lane, Winwick, Warrington.
Paramedics were called to the scene to help extricate the man from the car. He was later taken to hospital.
