NEW Mayor Cllr Allen Wales, has promised to be a “walking, talking advert for Frodsham”.
Cllr Wales, who joined the Town Council in September 2011, is a supermarket manager and was formerly a leading member of Frodsham Round Table.
After his investiture at the council’s annual meeting, he said he regarded it as an honour to be Mayor of Frodsham and thanked longer-serving members who had stood aside to enable him to take office.
He succeeded Cllr Sara Wakefield and his first duty was to invest the new Deputy Mayor, Cllr Fran Sutton, with her chain of office.
Since joining the council, Cllr Wales has carried out important research into the names of Frodsham soldiers on the town’s war memorials and has also played a leading role on the council’s World War 1 working group.
Cllr Wales has named Frodsham Youth Association as his charity of the year.
