Smoke alarm saves house

A SMOKE alarm averted a serious fire in the kitchen of a house in Silverdale Road, Warrington.
The occupier was alerted by the alarm and by the time fire crews from Warrington and Stockton Heath had reached the scene, the fire was, involving an unattended chip pan, was out.
The Cheshire Fire Service post fire support team attended to help with the clear-up operation.
Smoke alarms had previously been fitted by the fire service and alerted the occupiers to the blaze.
