“Wonderful” response to consultation exercise

A TOTAL 1,343 people responded to the major consultation exercised on the future of Frodsham being carried out by the Town Council – including 33 who missed the deadline for taking part.

But the council agreed at its monthly meeting that the 33 late-comers should be included in the consultation. Cllr Andrew Dawson (pictured) said: “I think that seeing as they went to the trouble of filling in the form they should be allowed to take part.

There can be all sorts of genuine reasons for being late, such as an item being delayed in the post. “The more people taking part the better.”

Town clerk Jon Wild told the meeting that 4,000 consultation documents were printed. A total of 1,310 were returned by the due date, including 134 online and 33 arrived after the deadline.

The results were now being collated, but this could take a long time.

Cllr Dawson described the response as “wonderful.”andrewdawson
