A 46- year -old-man has appeared in court charged with murder following an incident

on Manchester Road, Rixton, Warrington on Saturday morning.
Mark Slater, aged 46, from Hillside Avenue in Manchester, appeared at Runcorn Magistrates? Court this morning (Monday 17 February) via video link and was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court next Wednesday, charged with the murder of Trevor Allen, aged 56, from Swinton.
Slater was arrested on Saturday 15 February and has subsequently been charged with the offence and remanded into custody.
The charge relates to an incident on Manchester Road in Rixton at 8.15 on Saturday morning, where Mr Allen’s body was found lying in the road near his vehicle.
