COUNCILLORS and members of the public are opposing a plan to convert and extend an old barn to provide four dwellings because of an alleged road safety hazard
The proposal comes before Warrington Borough Council’s planning committee tomorrow (Wednesday).
The barn is off Cherry Lane, Lymm and the application has been submitted by Chris Horn and Tim Whiston.
Borough councillor Ian Marks has lodged an objection on the grounds the proposed access if “particularly dangerous.”
Lymm Parish Council has also expressed concern about the safety of entering and exiting Cherry Lane, pointing out that at least eight extra vehicles will be using the access.
Two neighbours have also objected on similar grounds and also because of loss of privacy and light. They point out the site is in the Green Belt.
Planning officers are recommending approval, however – subject to satisfactory surveys to establish whether bats are using the building.
