Crash driver taken to hospital

A MOTORIST was taken to hospital after his car careered off the road and ended up in a ditch near Warrington.
The incident was in Manchester Road, Rixton and fire crews from Warrington had to extricate him from the car before handing him over to paramedics.
Police controlled traffic while the rescue operation was in progress.
No other vehicle was involved in the incident shortly before 10pm on Saturday. Two fire engines from Warrington were involved in the operation.
