A WOMAN was taken to hospital at Warrington after her car plunged off the road and crashed into a show house on a new estate.
The crash – which involved only one vehicle – took place in Moran Drive, in Chapelford urban village.
Police, an ambulance and fire engines from Warrington, Stockton Heath and Widnes went to the scene.
The red Peugeot car crashed through a fence before hitting the house.
The woman, who was alone in the car, was trapped and was freed by fire crews under the advice of paramedics.
The car ended up embedded in the wall of the house.
A structural engineer was called to the scene because of fears for the stability of the house – a brand new property being used as a show house and believed to be on the market for more than £400,000.
Extensive damage was caused to the house wall.
It is believed the woman’s injuries were not life threatening.
