THE CAREER of Warrington Wolves legend Lee Briers was celebrated at a sell-out dinner event at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
More than 350 people attended the evening which sold out in just over 24 hours of being announced.
The evening started and ended with a rapturous standing ovation for the guest of honour.
The guests sat down to their meal before host Brian Carney commenced ‘An Audience with Lee Briers’.
Lee took the audience down memory lane, reliving his career as he remembers it from his first taste of Rugby League, his time at St Helens and signing for Warrington, to life at Wilderspool, moving to The Halliwell Jones Stadium and winning silverware; he touched on it all.
Amongst the guests were fans old and new, club partners and staff, event sponsors AskVas and Foden Estates along with Lee’s close family and friends.
‘Off the Cuff’, his recent autobiography, came to life throughout the evening and more copies were sold as guests ended the evening by meeting the man himself for photos and autographs.
Lee’s Warrington playing career spanned from 1997 to 2013 and he made history as the club’s all-time top points scorer.
The final chapter of the evening touched on his new move into coaching the next generation of Wolves’ players.
