BRIDGEFOOT ABC raised more than £370 for The Shannon Bradshaw Trust with a charity boxing tournament at Orford Jubilee Hub.
The packed show included 13 exciting bouts, with local boxing fans being treated to competitive matchups featuring both up-and-coming juniors from the club, as well as its established senior squad members. They faced skilled amateur boxers from across the North West, Midlands and South Wales.
A collection was held for the Shannon Bradshaw Trust, which supports children with life-threatening illnesses and their loved ones.
The club, which is managed by the husband and wife team of Derek and Amanda Groarke, holds tournaments in Warrington twice a year to raise money for local charities and provide its young athletes with opportunities to gain competitive experience.
Derek said: “Our tournament provided Bridgefoot’s talented young fighters with the opportunity to test their skills against top-class opposition. But more so, it also allowed us to give something back to our local community by supporting the Shannon Bradshaw Trust, a charity that makes an incredible difference to the lives of local families facing tough times.”
“We were delighted to have had such an incredible turnout and overwhelmed with the kindness of our attendees. We have an exciting squad of boxers at Bridgefoot ABC and this was the perfect opportunity for them to gain valuable experience and showcase their talents, whilst also supporting a very important cause.”
Since the club was founded in 1998, it has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity through such events.
