MP Helen Jones has praised a multi-national firm for its commitment to securing jobs for Warrington people.
The Warrington North MP was visiting Fujitsu at their premises in Birchwood.
She met non-executive chairman Simon Blagden and his management team and toured the complex, discussing current projects and future plans.
Ms Jones said: “It was good to speak to staff and learn about what they do. I was particularly impressed with the apprentices on-site. Seeing young people with passion for what they do in such a modern and fast paced environment was great to see. It is very clear that the management team invest a lot in the young people of Warrington”
Fujitsu in Birchwood employs more than 500 staff with 14 young apprentices across three offices on-site.
The Birchwood site focuses on three aspects of Fujitsu’s business – telecoms, networks and IT services and champions the fact that 70 per cent of UK broadband services are on Fujitsu’s infrastructure.
Mr Blagden said: “Fujitsu was delighted to introduce Helen to our employees, apprentices and the innovative work we do in Warrington. As a significant employer in the area we take great pride in the contribution we make to the local community and it was fantastic to get the opportunity to demonstrate this.”
Ms Jones added: “I know the management team are playing their part in securing jobs for local people. We need more companies to look at the people in Warrington and recognise how important it is to have local, hard working people ready to earn a good living”
