LONG-awaited new play facilities for one of Warrington’s most deprived areas have been officially opened.
Dallam Play Area was opened by Cllr Pat Wright, the borough council’s lead member for health, wellbeing and adult services, assisted by Mayor Cllr Peter Carey.
The celebration was attended by council members, officers, Year Five pupils from Dallam Primary School and other members of the local community.
The play area has an exciting combination of equipment including a pendulum swinging basket, a hurricane swing and a cableway and is designed for the use of children in the 8-13 age group.
The new area is part of the ongoing regeneration programme in the Dallam and Bewsey area
Cllr Wright said: “I am so pleased to finally see the play area come to life. It will no doubt be a welcome addition to the local area and will provide local young children lots of enjoyment. It was great to see them on the equipment!”
Cllr Kate Hannon, lead member for leisure, community and culture, said: “It was fantastic to see the community come together to celebrate the regeneration in the area and it was lovely to see how excited the children were on the day.”
