HAIRDRESSING students at Warrington Collegiate were in for a treat when their tutors organised an evening with Sean Tetlow, award winning hairdresser, and his team from the ‘Colour Room’.
More than 150 students together with representatives from Hair Salons in Warrington were invited to see Sean perform cutting and editorial demonstrations in the Barton Theatre at Warrington Collegiate.
As well as winning many awards, and being nominated for many more, Sean is the owner and creator of The Colour Room Salon. He is also a member of the artistic team for L’Oreal.
Sean arrived in the afternoon with three models to prepare for the evening demonstration. 19 year old hairdressing student at Warrington Collegiate, Helen Bilsborough, from Lowton, was thrilled to be chosen to assist in the preparation, working alongside Leah Walton, an award winning stylist from the Colour Room.
Helen said: “It was wonderful to be able to see top hairdressers in action. The hair styles being demonstrated were very intricate; my favourite was Avant Garde which I would describe as edgey. Sean made it look so easy and both he and Leah passed on their expertise as they worked so I got lots of tips on styling and techniques.”
Alison Edmondson, Curriculum Manager for Hairdressing and Barbering at Warrington Collegiate, who arranged the visit said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience the elite of the hairdressing world. We want this visit to inspire them to aspire to be the best in the profession We’re also pleased to welcome Tracy Dabell from L’Oreal tonight to support the event.”
