Giving Moore to charity

CLAIRE House children’s hospice received a donation of £3,000 from Higher Whitley based firm Moore Finance following the company’s annual fundraising ball.
Angella Rawsthorne, Senior Area Fundraiser at Claire House, accepted the cheque alongside the charity mascot Claire Bear from Moore Finance chairman Nigel Garner and Managing Director Frank Noel.
Angella said: “Claire House cannot thank Moore Finance enough for their support at their 10th anniversary ball. The £3,000 raised will go toward the vital care of children and young people with life threatening illnesses from the North Cheshire area. It costs £2.7 million to keep the door of the hospice open every year, without companies like Moore Finance Claire House would cease to exist.”
The funds raised from the ball will not only aid Claire House, but also beneficiaries of the Moore Foundation, a charitable trust established by Nigel and Frank to provide financial and practical relief to local children’s charities and worthy causes.
Nigel added: “It has always been my belief that a business doesn’t just have a responsibility to its shareholders’ but to its wider community. By getting involved in various projects and events in our local communities it became apparent that there were many individuals in our area who were missing vital support and had limited access to funding to resolve the challenges they faced.
“This presented us at Moore Finance with an opportunity to make our contribution in improving this situation and the Moore Foundation was established. We have been able to make access to funding much simpler and quicker and have helped to provide specialist care and equipment and allow youngsters to fully achieve their true potential and ambitions – ‘putting the smile back’.
“It’s great for us as an organisation to extend that giving to another extremely worthy cause like Claire House, and we hope this donation makes a real difference to the users of the hospice.”
