Collegiate does its bit for Children in Need

STUDENTS and staff at Warrington Collegiate helped to raise more than £500 for Children in Need after a week of activities to raise awareness and funds for the charity.
From staff in the stocks to an eye-watering leg wax, head shave and cake sales the college buzzed with excitement, music and figures in onesies and fancy dress.
More than 90 students and staff also got involved in a basketball tournament, held on Friday.
The week of fundraising was coordinated by Mike Ignatius, the Student Liaison Officer, who said: “We’ve raised £500 so far but we’ve lots more coming in so we could very well double that. This is a fantastic achievement. We have been overwhelmed by the support that we have received from the staff and students at the college.”
The national appeal, which is in its 34th year, raised a total of £31m on Friday night.
Paul Hafren, Principal at Warrington Collegiate, who nobly sat in the stocks as well as playing in the basketball tournament said: “So many students and staff have given their time and effort to raise such a massive amount of money from just one college. The college has been really buzzing this week with all the activities and excitement as the total kept rising. I’d like to say thank you to everyone for helping to change thousands of young lives across the UK.”
