MP's survey on zero hour contracts

PEOPLE in North Warrington are being asked to tell of their experience of zero hour contracts.
MP Helen Jones is carrying out a survey among her constituents to find out what impact the contracts have on working people.
She has already demanded action to end what she claims is the exploitation of workers.
Ms Jones (pictured) said: “At a time when families are facing the biggest living standards crisis in a generation we should all be demanding action to stop rising insecurity at work through the exploitive use of zero hour contracts.
“They are now used in one in five workplaces.
“ I recognise that employers and employees need some flexibility but I’m not in favour of people in Warrington North lacking job security and having to be flexible about whether or not they can afford the weekly shop.
“ I want to hear from people about their experiences. I have already been contacted by people who, in practice, work regular hours but are on zero hour contracts.
“I would like to get a wider picture which is why I’ve launched my
survey. People can fill in the survey online – www.warringtonlabour.com or contact my constituency office for a survey form.
“Hard-working people should feel confident and secure at work. Ending the exploitive use of zero hour contracts is an integral part of achieving this.”
