David crowned Class A Champion

WARRINGTON’S David McArthur was crowned class ‘A’ Avon Tyres Formula Ford Northern Championship Post 89 Champion at Oulton Park.
David driving a Van Diemen LA10 Medina Sport shook off a strong Challenge from Martin Short in a Van Diemen JLO12K as they battled out over 11 laps of the Oulton Park International Circuit to win the first of two races.
David from Rixton, also clocked up the fastest lap of the race with 89mph time. David only had to finish in the second race to take the Championship.
His battle with Martin Short continued in the second race, with Martin running out the winner and David who again put up the fastest lap time (88.72mph) finished in a close second place but the Championship was his.
“It’s been a great season and to win the Championship is something very special,” said David.
It has been a good season for the Motor Racing McArthur’s…with father Neil and younger brother Tom all taking part in the Championship.
