Police officer loses taser cartridge

A FULL internal investigation has been launched by Cheshire Police after an officer loss a taser cartridge while on duty.
Police do not know what area the cartridge was lost in – but it could be Warrington.
The officer involved had carried out extensive duties across the length and breadth of the county on the day the piece of equipment went missing.
Police say the cartridge is not harmful provided it is not tampered within any way.
If anyone finds it they are asked to hand it in at the nearest police station.
The cartridge was attached to the officer’s equipment vest and at some point it became detached without the officer noticing.
Insp Dave Price said: “The cartridge is safe to handle, and there is no risk providing it is not tampered with in any way. If found it should be handed into the nearest police station.
“This is a very rare event and a full internal review is underway.”
