Ed Milliband visits Warrington

LABOUR leader Ed Milliband, probably the most talked about politician in

the country, was greeted by shoppers and the party faithful when he

visited Morrisons Supermarket in South Warrington.
Mr Milliband, who has been in the media headlines all week following the much publicised “attack” on his late father Ralph by the Daily Mail, was in town to show his support for Warrington South Parliamentary candidate Nick Bent, in one of the key marginals Labour must win to form the next government.
After a tour of the supermarket, where he stopped to pose for photos with supporters, he took part in a Q&A session.
He said the key message he had been getting from the public was the cost of living.
He then outlined how Labour would tackle the various issues facing the country.

Top picture shows Mr Milliband being greeted by Warrington council leader Cllr Terry O’Neill and Nick Bent.

Video coverage of Mr Milliband’s visit, including an interview, will be uploaded later.

  1. How come there was no mention of him coming here until after he’d been ? They kept that quiet or is that the norm ? I’d have gone along for a listen to what he had to say or even an ‘ask’ and maybe others would have too. PS Shouldn’t all the young people in the bottom photo be at work (if they are lucky enough to have jobs !!) or in college on a Friday rather than being in Morrisons 😉

  2. All looks like a big publicity stunt for the Labour candidates’s benefit really. You can see him positioning himself so as not to miss the camera….. Most of the people around seem to be members of the Labour Party, including the lad from Grappenhall who never seems to be far from the crowd when they are getting ready to “say cheese”…… I’m sure were all supposed to fall for it but Mr Bent (what a name for a politician!) should give Warrington more credit.
