Smoke detector saves flat

TWO fire engines were mobilised when fire broke out at a flat in Fairclough Avenue, Warrington in the early hours of the morning.
Crews found the blaze involved a quantity of rubbish in the flat but was already out by the time they reached the scene.
They used a ventilation unit to clear smoke from the premises.
The flat was fitted with a smoke detector and this had raised the alarm.
