Safety warning over firefighters’ strike

WARRINGTON Council has issued a safety warning to residents regarding tomorrow’s (Wednesday, Sept 25) strike by firefighters.
The Fire Brigades Union has called national industrial action to take place between 12 noon and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25.
A council spokesperson said: “The fire service will be able to run its control room as normal, so anybody needing to report a fire should dial 999 as normal.
“The fire service expects 50% of its fire engines to be operating.
“But we would encourage everybody to take extra care whether at home, in work or while travelling, as the fire and rescue services will be at reduced capacity.”
Further safety information and advice can be found on the fire service website at www.cheshirefire.gov.uk or by visiting www.takeextracare.com
