Machete raiders rob Tesco store

WARRINGTON Police are appealing for information following a robbery at the Tesco store in Grappenhall last night (Sunday September 22) involving two masked men armed with machetes.
The robbery took place at around 11.15pm when two men forced entry to the Tesco store on Knutsford Rd and confronted three shop workers.
Both men were armed with machetes, one wore a face mask and the second was wearing a black balaclava.
The two men then demanded money from the shop workers who were cashing up their tills. Money was loaded into bags and the men then fled the scene in a silver BMW car.
Although staff were badly shaken nobody was hurt during the incident.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity at the time to contact DC Hall at Warrington CID on 101.

UPDATE : Please note earlier reports stating it was the Co-op store were incorrect based on information provided by the police.
